The first step to protecting your process from the devastating effects of an explosion is to install the necessary explosion protection equipment. The next step however, is to ensure that equipment is serviced and maintained regularly, according to the manufacturers instructions. Without regular inspections, your process may not be protected. For example, a B-FLAP isolation flap valve can become full of product if not cleaned and inspected annually by a qualified engineer, such as ourselves. Should an explosion occur and you have not had adequate servicing procedures on your equipment, the B-FLAP could become blocked and the flap could be prevented from slamming shut, thus allowing the explosion to propagate from one area of the process to another.
